School life is intense . it can be very fun, with diverse extracurricular clubs and leisure activities, or it can be full of frustration and stress.

Many students new to college do not know what it takes to be successful in the college environment. They understand good and bad grades in a general way, and they sense that they should attend classes, but is where their knowledge begins and ends.

Most instructions know what a good student is and is not. For one thing, a good student is not necessarily the most intelligent individual in class.

The following is a list of some characteristics of good students. This list is a description of what a hardworking student does and what a lecturer likes to see. By learning this characteristics, you may better understand the day to day and class to class behavior of successful students. The idea is to provide you with guidelines you can follow which help you get down to business of becoming a successful 'A' Student.

1. Attend All Your Classes

Now you might think this was an obvious one. But I speak from experience when I say that many students skip classes for several reasons. But if you want good grades there are several reasons to attend classes:

-Absorb classroom lectures. Even if the lecture follows the textbook pretty closely, sitting in the classroom and listening to the lectures will help you absorb the lectures.

- Earn attendance points. Many lecturers have attendance policies, so you can have a direct impact on your grade simply by attending.

-Don't forget to sit close to the front- historically, those who do are usually the best students.

2. Importance of getting to know classmates in college

Always switch contacts daily with class mates, find new person outside a clique. Make sure that you already know these people before you exchange contact. Remember this is not a date or for a future room mate, it is important if someone miss classes. This way, there is a way to get questions answered and miss notes.

Likewise, then, there is at least one person yo study with when exams are approaching, and this goes for each and every course in which the student is enrolled. Too many college students forget this simple step, and when the time comes, there is no one to contact when an unexpected absence takes the person out of class.
