Information for Unizik applicants with incomplete registration

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Nnamdi Azikwe University Awka (Unizik) has called on students who are yet to complete their post UTME registration to proceed to the portal to complete this process. This information is only for those who are yet to submit their registration or stopped their registration at any point. The students are to hurry with the information as it will close by 2nd of October (Monday) 2017. Their post UTME exam will commence by 8am on the 3rd of October 2017. We equally advice applicants to be present at their venues as early as possible.

A young lady identified as Chinonso from Mbano in Imo State and a resident of Abuja – has left her family and friends in sorrow following her tragic demise. The young lady was journeying to Awka, Anambra State to sit for her Post UTME Examination in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka UNIZIK when she met her end on Sunday September 24th 2017. It was gathered that she had a fatal accident along Kogi road, while she was in one “IFESINACHI BUS”approaching South East. She was among the two people who died, along side one man, while others were rushed to the hospital. We in Campusgistars pray for safety of students as they write their exams, we also use this medium to ask bus drivers to be careful and adhere to speed limit. May her soul rest in peace!

Making this announcement in its website, the institution has invited all qualified candidates to apply for the programme which would lead to a direct entry admission into Imo State University and any other JUPEB affiliated institution in the country. The students who would apply for this programme is to posses WEAC, NECO, or NABTEB in not more than two sitting. Which must include English and Mathematics. Candidaites will offer three subjects which are relevant to the course of the applicant. South African rands A South African student has gotten 1m dollar loan from error loan an equivalent of 14m rand and about #364m Naira. The error was notable when the picture showing the account number of the student went viral. According to   Time Live reports  A spokes person of the university, Walter Sisulu University had reported her living a lavish lifestyle. The student was quoted to have reported the error to the school authority. And also was quoted to have returned the money. But the university through its spokes person had said the student would pay for every cent. South African students receive loans for their education through the National student financial Aid , (NSFAS) and money is made to be paid back after graduation. Speaking to press men, the minister of labour and productivity Dr Chris Ngige after the Federal executive meeting expressed the Federal Government regrets over the strike action that has stagnated educational activities in the higher institution in the country. Nigeria: UNIPORT confirms suspected ritualist who raped and killed his Niece as their student

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Portharcaourt: The University of Portharcourt popularly known as UNIPORT on Wednesday 30th of August identified a suspect who dismembered his 8year old niece as 200level student of the institution. The spokes man for UNIPORT Dr Williams wodi confirmed this by a statement issued in Portharcourt on Wednesday. The suspect was said to have abducted, raped, killed and dismembered his 8 year old niece known as Chikamso Nmuzwumba on the 19th of August for ritual purposes. The suspect was caught by the the vigilante group while going to dispose off the remains of Chikamso's body and was handed over to the police in the state but escaped barely 24hours after he was handed over. IBB University to begin Post UTME, pegs cut off score at 160

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Minna: The management of IBB University Lapai, Niger state on Teusday 29th of August confirmed its post UTME cut off mark to be 160. The Vice Chancellor proffesor Mohammed Nasir Maiture at a press briefing in Minna told news men that the mark represents 40% of students who selected the institution in the 2017 UTME. "Aside from the cut off marks, Candidates are also required to have 5 credit in O level and the the required combination of UTME subjects. "The school portal will soon be opened for candidates to upload their details and credentials for screening" JAMB hardly earlier this month made UTME cut off mark of 120 but has given various schools mandate to choose their post UTME cut off mark. By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Lagos :The University of Lagos on Tuesday 29th of August announced that its aptitude test would for prospective students intending to be admitted for the 2017/2018 session would hold on the 18th to 22nd of September 2017. The deputy registrar of information, Mr Toyin Adebule said that the online registration for post Unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) would commence on August 31 through September 15. According to him, only students who made University of Lagos their first choice and scored 200 in their UTME are eligible to apply, students who are below 16 years by October 2017 should not apply. In Nigeria: Unillorin appoints New Vice Chancellor

His credentials is said to be very impressive and also a renowned academician. According to the prochancellor and head of the governing body Dr Abdullahi Jibrin Oyekan who made the announcement in a press conference in the university, He said, the appointment takes effect from October 16th 2017. This is because the five year tenure of the out going vice chancellor professor Abdulganyi Ambali would be due by 15th of October. Fire burns down Female hostel in Jos

The Female hostel of plateau state Polytechnic Jos campus was completely burnt by fire on Monday. The fire which began by about 8:30am burnt burnt until at about 11:50am. All efforts to stop the fire by students was fruitless especially throwing the students and lecturers into serious confusion as everyone fled from the inferno. According to NAN report, No life was lost as almost all the students had left for lectures. Yusuf Ade a security man in the school told NAN "No one was around to bring out anything" NAN also reports that the fire service operatives came by 11:20pm when the fire had already burnt down everything. The rector of the school Dauda Geymeng said that the incident was very surprising and the fire had resulted from a gas explosion at about 8:30am. "We shall move the students to another place.
