UNIABUJA:12 MEDICAL STUDENTS FAIL FINAL EXAMS AFTER 12 YEARS IN SCHOOL

Garba said the result of the students' final professional examinations released on November 24, showed that 18 medical students passed the examination and only five of the 18 graduated with distinction in Surgery. South African rands A South African student has gotten 1m dollar loan from error loan an equivalent of 14m rand and about #364m Naira. The error was notable when the picture showing the account number of the student went viral. According to   Time Live reports  A spokes person of the university, Walter Sisulu University had reported her living a lavish lifestyle. The student was quoted to have reported the error to the school authority. And also was quoted to have returned the money. But the university through its spokes person had said the student would pay for every cent. IBB University to begin Post UTME, pegs cut off score at 160

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Minna: The management of IBB University Lapai, Niger state on Teusday 29th of August confirmed its post UTME cut off mark to be 160. The Vice Chancellor proffesor Mohammed Nasir Maiture at a press briefing in Minna told news men that the mark represents 40% of students who selected the institution in the 2017 UTME. "Aside from the cut off marks, Candidates are also required to have 5 credit in O level and the the required combination of UTME subjects. "The school portal will soon be opened for candidates to upload their details and credentials for screening" JAMB hardly earlier this month made UTME cut off mark of 120 but has given various schools mandate to choose their post UTME cut off mark. The reduction of admissions bench mark is to stop Nigerians from going for foreign education - JAMB

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Abuja :The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has explained that the decision by stakeholders to reduce the the cut of points for the 2017 calendar year was geared towards reducing the search for Education abroad by Nigerians. JAMB in a statement by its Head of Media Dr Fabian Benjamin said that education in the country in seriously retrogressive and fear of the public has led some to keep quiet in the matter. It also said that the bench mark strictly condemned by the public is never strictly followed by tertiary institutions in the country and some have gone below the cut off mark, while many has offered admissions without candidates even sitting for jamb. The Board which argued that the decision and controversies arising from the stakeholders action can be blamed on the rising trend for foreign education. Deputy Governor of Edo state Threatens To Lead a Protest Against Bus Drivers In University of Benin

Uniben Gate   By I.C Nelson The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr Peter Shaibu has warned all the bus Drivers attached to the University of Benin(Uniben) that he will lead a protest against them if they increase the fares of their services to the student. The warning came as a result of the reaction that followed the joint payment of the State and Local Government levies by the drivers who are threatening to increase the fares of their buses. The deputy Governor issued the warning during the meeting with the Student Union Government (SUG) of the school. He said that since January they have not been paying any levies and did not reduce the fares for the students, he also noted that other drivers has responded positively to the fair and theirs would not be different.

JAMB slash cut off mark for Universities to 120

Students books The Joint Admissions and matriculation board of Nigeria with Vice chancellors, and Rectors of Universities and Polytechnics in the country, unanimously agreed in a meeting held on Tuesday in Abuja for a general cut off mark of 120 for Universities and 100 for Polytechnics in the country for the 2017/2018 admissions. The Registrar of JAMB professor Isaq Oloyede cautioned that Universities should not go below the cut off mark of 120. "All we have done is to determine the lowest cut off for admissions into higher institutions, what ever score you adopt is not below the score adopted in this meeting for admission into your various institutions is the decision of the school" He said. He also called for schools to be flexible in their adoption of cut off marks for admissions. He stated that the senate and school board should be given opportunity to choose their cut off mark.
