JAMB Bans Use of Wrist Watches And Pens In 2018 UTME

The board’s Registrar, Is’haq Oloyede disclosed this when speaking to newsmen at a one-day sensitisation workshop for Computer Based Test, CBT, centre owners on Wednesday in Lagos. “What we are doing here today is to appraise the registration and conduct of our past examination and we have taken some lessons from our experience. “To this end therefore we have introduced some measures that will further add to the integrity of the registration process as well as the conduct of the examination proper. “For instance, we discovered during the conduct of the last examination that some electronic devices such as pens, wristwatches and other devices were used to perpetrate examination malpractice. “So, for next year, we have banned the use of wristwatches and pens...

500 youths denounce Cultism in Lagos

The youths, whose ages are between 17 and 35, submitted weapons that have been in their custody to the Lagos State Police Command. The weapons, which were displayed at the Ijede LCDA hall included pump action rifles, AK-47 rifles, locally-made guns and single-barrell. Also displayed were cartridges of various types as well as axes and machetes. Vanguard reports that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who was at Ijede to receive the arms, pointed out that the act was a boost to his Police/public partnership policy, even as he applauded the efforts of the LCDA Chairman, Mr. Salisu Jimoh, for pioneering the move. The Corps Commandant, Ibrahim Abdullahi who did not disclose the schools said the girls being used for the business are girls between 25 and below. Explaining the girls' mode of operations, Abdullahi said the girls who take N10,000 per night don't go out looking for men as they have pimps who arrange men for them. However some schools who are yet to release their admission list might show processing. We urge student to stay calm until the final list is released. Please don't panic if your status is not "admitted" bear in mind that there is still schools who are yet to conclude with even their first batch of list. IMSU STUDENTS RETURNING FROM BURIAL DIE IN AUTO CRASH

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Two student of IMSU returning from burial died in auto crash Two students of Imo State University have reportedly died in an auto crash which occurred along the Owerri-Orlu Expressway. The students, simply identified as Moses Izuchukwu and Jane were said to be returning from the burial of the mother of one of their course mates when the accident occurred. An eyewitness who spoke to Punch about the accident said, Jane and Izuchukwu were crushed to death while others were injured and rushed to a hospital. He said  “The two students died on the spot. They were crushed beyond recognition, especially the female student. It was a horrible sight. The students were on their way back from the funeral rites of the mother of one of their course mates.” Lecturers of the school according to Punch were seen discussing the tragedy while their course mates could not control their emotions over the sad event as they wept profusely.
