Nigeria: Lagos State to beef up security for Schools in riverine areas

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Lagos: Lagos state government has began a clamp down with a joint security tactic squad comprising of various security agencies and its officers to heighten security of model schools with the riverine areas and places vulnerable to security treat within the state. Briefing news men after the monthly security meeting chaired by the state governor Akunwumi Ambode, the commissioner of police Mr Imohimi Edgal said that security measures are put in place to upgrade security within the state and would also involve the restrictions of the motorcyclists activities popular known as Okada to some places within the the state to ensure the safety of schools and communities within the region. He said the ban on Okada would be enforced immediately the public is enlightened on the danger on plying them through the banned routes.
