Nigeria: OAU enlists its cut off mark and invites aspiring students for post UTME

Making this information known on their website yesterday 2nd September 2017, the information reads "Candidates who have made Obafemi Awolowo University their first choice in the 2017 UTME and have scored 200 and above, and those who have applied for Direct entry (DE) are hereby informed to log on to Obefemi Awolowo University Ile-ife website (www.oauife.edu.ng) or (admissions.oau-ife.edu.ng) to register for post-ume screening exercise effective from September 11, 2017. The reduction of admissions bench mark is to stop Nigerians from going for foreign education - JAMB

By Igboamalu Chimezie Nelson Abuja :The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has explained that the decision by stakeholders to reduce the the cut of points for the 2017 calendar year was geared towards reducing the search for Education abroad by Nigerians. JAMB in a statement by its Head of Media Dr Fabian Benjamin said that education in the country in seriously retrogressive and fear of the public has led some to keep quiet in the matter. It also said that the bench mark strictly condemned by the public is never strictly followed by tertiary institutions in the country and some have gone below the cut off mark, while many has offered admissions without candidates even sitting for jamb. The Board which argued that the decision and controversies arising from the stakeholders action can be blamed on the rising trend for foreign education. Nigerian School Admission: JAMB Announces Deadline For Direct Entry

Matriculation By I.C Nelson The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in Nigeria has announced deadline of direct entry admissions. The dead line for direct entry for 2017/2018 admission year is on Friday 15th of September 2017. Direct entry students in Nigeria are to skip the first year in tertiary education because of reasons ranging students who have gone through advanced courses or has gone through a year one equivalent either in the said institution or from another institution. Hence, we advice all direct entry applicants to hasten their effort so as not to be left out in this year's admission process.
