In Nigeria: FG Grants Universities Access To Hold Post UTME

Students writing Exams

ABUJA: The Federal Government of Nigeria has lifted the ban off the post unified tertiary examination known as post UTME formerly known as JAMB.

Speaking  on behalf of the Federal government of Nigeria,  the Education minister Adamu Adamu in Abuja reinstated that; Universities polytechnics and other institutions are free to organise post-UTME screening as a pre-condition to gaining admission into public institutions.

He claimed that the process was halted because the federal government needed to understand the process involved and what the universities were doing. Which led to a complete investigation of the exams, there it is only wise that the government let it continue.

He also pleaded with the universities to make the the fees affordable for students in order for them to enrol and desist from complaints.

Recall that the Federal government had faulted the process with a lot of complaints coming from students and parents about the excesses involved in the process.

We from #CampusGistars look forward to a reformed post UTME exams in Nigeria that would bring dignity, hope and fairness to the Nigerian Education sector.
