Nigeria: SSANU give details of why they boycotted the FG Negotiation

The senior academic staff union of Nigerian University did not attend its meeting scheduled for today with the Negotiators of the Federal government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige based on its claim that it was not aware of the any meeting with the federal government.
The organization which spoke through
Abdussobur Salaam the National Public Relation officer said that they were never notified of any meeting with the federal government.
SASSNU said it was ready to discuss with the government and avert any implications of the looming strike action, it argued that what was not made known to the organization could not be boycotted since they were not even aware.
"No letter was written to us to attend any meeting, we were not invited or get invited"
According to the chart of the Federal ministry of Labour and employment the meeting was suppose to commence by 3pm, and was to be attended by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of both SSANU, NAAT and NASU.
The three bodies had earlier agreed to embark week on an indefinite industrial action starting on the 11th of September 2017
