University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Information)
A student of the University, Chibike Osinem, who spoke to Pulse about the alleged scandal said the accusation is false and that the president was not in Nigeria when his impeachment was moved by Tabugbo Kenneth, the Speaker of the Students' Representatives.
Osinem said Ezeja and other Nigerian SUG presidents travel to Europe to have meetings with their European counterparts, adding that the allegation against him is not genuine.
"The information (about the alleged scandal) is invalid, it is the work of the people who are against him. Besides he is not in Nigeria now. And they can not impeach him when he is not around. They are just against him."
They are in a meeting with other school executives in Nigeria and abroad. They were in Paris before and from there they went to Sweden. They left Sweden today for another country.
Two other students who spoke to Pulse about the allegation against Ezeja on Thursday, November 2, said they could not confirm the genuineness of the allegation against the SUG president.
A student simply identified as Micahel said "there are lots of stories going online. I myself I am not in school, I am actually in Lagos, I will probably go back to school tomorrow t confirm that. If you want concrete information when I get back to school I can give you something better but for now, no comment."
Another student who does not want her name mentioned said, 'I have not heard anything like that. I have been offline for quite sometime, I just came online yesterday. Maybe that is why I have not got to know about it. Besides the school just resumed on Monday. If he was impeached this week, I don't think the story is true because right now we are having issues with increment in our school fees and it is the SUG President and his officials that are going about having meetings with the VC and other administrators to reduce the school fee.''
It is not known yet when Ezeja and other executives will return from their trip.
