Better student episode 4: Negative things that can happen when young people gather

If you have been following our articles on how to become a better student you will find out that we have tried all we can to give out the best we can on these series.

As we talk about the negatives that happen when young people come together.

A lot of good stuff can happen too, however we are looking at this part because a lot of young lives had gone down the worse path of life. Knowing about them could mean protection for us.
What are some social vices that occur when young people meet?

PARTYING

Awuch, if you are not a rider, you are definitely learning. When young fresh blood comes together, there is always a cohesive force that binds us together    to reject boredom and make merry, however partying us a good way to get on the vibe and stay healthy especially when there is a lot of dancing. However, young ones tend to over use this gathering and gear towards the negative light.

Most young people feel is a time to show who they are and smoke all they can with a feeling of 'I have arrived' most get drunk, some take hard drugs, and you know with the pretty ladies around showing off their bum shots and hot bikinis, some end up in the bed mood!

Partying can actually affect your campus life if you don't watch it especially without curtailing it.

SMOKING
Today, I see smaller boys even girls basing off smokes in the air, you will be surprised at how they do it so well that you will wonder if they smoked from infancy.
When young boys come together any place especially on campuses they feel is a time to pop smoke from their mouth into the air.

SEX
Hmmm, thus is the 'chairman' of it all, sex among young people is like an experiment, a colleague once told me "Sex is more fun when you try it with different girls" I could not help but wonder how many people he has tried it with.
Young people today see sex as a normal part of life, a way not even to show emotions but to show how tough you can be to girls or guys.

You must also beware of the lecturers who pretend to be bulls in sheep clothing. Most of them can't look away from a skirt. I am not surprised on how so many of them have been exposed today.

In my school days, we tried estimating the rate and number of sex that happen on campuses just only in Nigeria or from our own campus, "OH MY GOD!" We were perplexed on the rate from only our own vicinity.

Sex on campus could be a very powerful distraction you as a young person, you have to stand firm from this distraction.

It can destroy you for life. The campus environment is filled with the opposite sex, its safe to stay away, abstain from sex but if you can't, make sure to avoid  unprotected sex.

Gossips

You thought I would forget? Oh no... Think again! Yes, gossip, gossip, and gossips, these days boys on campus gossips about the next Chic passing by, the girls talks about a night stand with the most popular guy, o yeah, believe it or not, its the truth.

What more so they gossip about?
Most gossips are about what happens in campus, but how about celebrity gossipers? (Them plenty die, lol) you can't help it when a bunch of students sent to school would be very serious talking about stars, Davido tell wizkid  say..., what the....? Its so unimaginable. If you want to even get very angry pass through where they are talking about football, oh my!

During my school days I know students who claim not to have a fare to class but would use money to view a match, yeah that's how bad it is.

Gossips is so rampant when in campus, you can't help it, you just have to set your priorities right.

Don't forget, its gossips, gossips and more!

PEER PRESURE

Very powerful! This has led numerous students astray. It is never difficult to hear some one say "had I known" they talk as if they had no choice before they took a chance. However there was a choice, but the problem is young people are prone to go with the crowd, they just want to identify with their friends.

Have you ever had the feeling of trying so hard not to appear the odd one in a group?

When young people come together they form cliques, groups and all tpu can think off. Always youths in our society will love to be recognized to a particular group.

Sometimes these groups take the negative parts, they could be so demeaning such as a cult group.

Subsequently we shall talk about cult groups in this series. But for now I want you to always remember that your friends can either add positives or subtract to your life style on campus. They wither show you the good or bad, they either take you to class, your books or take you else where, encourage or discourage you.

No matter the situation you find yourself, it is still up to you to figure out the kind of association you would love while you stay I'm school.

Understanding that the school is a critical step in your life to prepare you for the future should help you to make critical but right decisions as you lead your life while in school.
