Abia trains students on ICT

Umuahia: The Chief Librarian of Abia state e-Library Mrs Pearl Solomon on Tuesday stated that Abia state Government is successful with the training of 300 school children from primary and secondary in the state on information and communication technology(ICT).

Vanguard reported that the students were selected to be computer    literates and was intensively trained to develop computer skills freely for a month.

"We have started a process and we are determined to ensure that every Abia child is ICT compliant. I urge parents to make their children available for subsequent training.

A former secretary of the state professor Mpka Mpka urged the students to utilize what they have learned to impact positively to the society.

" The computer is like a two edged sword, it can make or mar an individual. He said, he advised them to make use of it productively.

The chairman of the occasion Mr Chinazo Nwosu encouraged parents to admonish their children to love ICT and make it their passion, because their future was tied to it.

Nwosu also as commends the state in their efforts to catch the students in their tender years, and noted that anything were planted in their hearts would yield results at this stage.

According to the report, one of the beneficiary Michael Enyidike told news he would apply his computer skills and also encouraged other youths to embrace the opportunity.
