Nigeria: ASUU to meet with FG for final concessions

Abuja: There are indications that the Federal government may meet with academic staff union of Universities over the ongoing industrial action by the Union which have stagnated tertiary education in the country.

The Union had met over the weekend to decide if the proposal by the federal government merits calling off the action.

The federal government had proposed to pay twenty three billion Naira (#23b) to ASUU with a monthly payment of 1.5billion Naira pending on the forensic financial investigation that is presently on going by the ministry of finance.

According to our correspondent in University of Abuja, ASUU had met on Saturday to decide weather it will call off the action based on the offers of the federal government.

It was decided that they would seek an audience with the federal government this week in order to reach a concession to decide the next step the Union will take.
